In a continued effort to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence within Nigeria’s maritime ecosystem, that same day the CEO of Brightflow Logistics, Dr. Anie Iton, who also serves as Chairman of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Cross River State, paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The visit, which included key members of the CILT executive team, featured a closed door meeting with the Port Manager of NPA. The engagement centered on fostering stronger collaboration between professional logistics bodies and port authorities, with a clear focus on enhancing maritime operations in Cross River State and the broader South-South region.
DRIVING REGIONAL MARITIME DEVELOPMENT
At the heart of the discussions was a shared commitment to unlocking the untapped potential within Cross River’s maritime sector. Dr. Iton emphasized the importance of synergy between regulatory institutions, logistics professionals, and port operators in building a more efficient, competitive, and globally aligned maritime framework.
She highlighted the role of CILT as a thought leader and capacity-building institution, ready to partner with NPA in areas such as:
1. Professional training and certification
2. Policy advisory and industry standards
3. Operational efficiency and port logistics optimization
A UNIFIED VISION FOR GROWTH
The meeting underscored the need for strategic alignment between public and private stakeholders to drive investment, improve port infrastructure utilization, and position Cross River State as a viable maritime hub.
Dr. Iton reaffirmed Brightflow Logistics’ commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance trade facilitation, streamline cargo movement, and promote sustainable logistics practices across Nigeria.

This visit marks another significant step in bridging institutional gaps and building a more integrated maritime ecosystem. With continued dialogue and collaboration between organizations like CILT and NPA, the future of maritime operations in Cross River State looks increasingly promising.
